K-2 Literacy Academic Support

Hello, and welcome! I’m Mrs. Reyes, the K-2 Literacy Intervention Teacher at Haskell STEAM Magnet. I provide daily small group differentiated instruction for 30 minutes to help students strengthen their foundational reading skills with the goal of bringing students closer to grade-level proficiency in reading. The focus is on early literacy foundational skills and language using research-guided literacy instruction. With 25 years of teaching experience, I am dedicated to helping students build strong foundational literacy skills and grow as confident readers.

This program is designed for students who scored below or well below benchmark on the DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) assessment. To track progress, I assess students every two weeks and adjust their instruction as needed to ensure they receive targeted support that meets their individual learning needs.
